Music - Mood Booster

What do you do when your mood is not that great? You seem not to be interested in anything. Music! I think its a great mood booster. One reason i think is that music pulls you away from the world or the present and takes you into a different land. It works for me! For me my mind doesnt sway towards the worries or the general stress while listening to my favorite music. I find myself immersed in the lyrics and the melody. So try it next time you need to energize your mood. I bet it would work!

Gaining control over the mind is the thing that need to be mastered by any one who want to eliminate disturbance either at body(five senses) level or at mind(yet another sense that is more powerful than bodily senses) level, and if this control is not there, then, a person will be subjected to the moods of the circumstances, just like the way a person whose counciousness is completely involved in to the movie, and thus gets tuned to the good and bad moods of the scenes that happen in the movie. But, those who have mastered control over the mind will not do so, but will still get involved in the movie, and will be able to selectively enjoy the movie and not get tuned seriously byt he movie scenes. Similar are the circumstances of the individuals that they place themselves in.

The mind of an individual is having two functions. One is to perceive thoughts and the other is to generate thoughts, including the background thought, called Breath. When you observe your breathing, you will find this truth.

Now, to calm down this mind or its activity, the only way is to reduce the thoughs it generates and the thoughts it perceives. One way is to completely abstain from the activity of generation or perception of thoughts. This can only be done in case of those who have a realization that they are not just mind, but above it and have a complete control over it.

But in case of those who donot have this realization that they are more powerful than the body or mind, the best way is to concentrate on some activity, may be chanting a song or name or prayer etc and this will reduce the amount of the thoughts that generates and also the amount of thoughts that are being perceived by mind. Once the mind is calmed down, things start to appear clearly, as more and more of calming down the mind happens.


In this process of calming down the mind, a person can use any methods like listening to music, devotional activities, charity activities etc, but they should be well within the limits so that they donot harm oneself or others in any way as much as possible.


Afterall, even to solve a simple problem, we need to have a calmed mind, and if we had to solve the complicated problems, then, calming the mind is an absolute must, and also to have good health, Mind need to be calm enough, so that it can retain its control over the bodily senses.


There are higher levels for an individual, above body & Mind, called will power, and above it called the soul level, or counciousness level. Mind has superiority over body, Will power has superiority over Mind and soul or speck of counciousness has the ultimate control over everything that the individual possess.

Ofcourse, to realize this, calming down the mind is necessary. Use whatever method suits you, so you can be free from troubles and sail through whatever work you do smoothly and more efficiently.
